The ensemble was made up of a core of 12 string players with varying numbers of winds, brass, and percussion added as needed. The Mercury ensemble had the support of many loyal fans and fulfilled a unique professional and artistic roll as Denver’s only fully professional chamber orchestra at the time. Over its existence, the Mercury Ensemble produced over a dozen performances per season and numerous recordings.
